We’ll continue our review of filling materials that I use and what the pros and cons are.
- Resin based composite – most common “tooth colored” fillings
- The look nicer! We can match these fillings very closely to the shade of your tooth, so that you often cannot even tell that a filling has been there.
- They bond to the tooth, this means that less tooth needs to be removed and that if cracks are present it can help stabilize the tooth.
- The tooth needs to be dry for them to bond in properly – this can be difficult or impossible to achieve in certain areas of the mouth or parts of the tooth.
